The Geek Girl series has always been a personal favourite of mine, and 'All That Glitters' is still a fantastic book, but unfortunately it broke the good streak. Harriet is mainly concerned about the goings on at home, and the story is basically just about school.
I was expecting another dramatic story about her having an amazing experience doing a photo shoot with Nick, even though he was supposed to be in Australia after they broke up. Instead, Harriet only has about two chapters actually in the modelling world, and most of the other time having a bad time at school.
Some people may like the change in the storyline, which is great, but personally, overall, still an impressive piece of writing, and I guess a repeat of Harriet's childhood. But, I have to admit, a little bit disappointing.

The third book in the Geek Girl series, still holds me page by page.
Harriet Manners has had the best summer ever and is planning her next few weeks of pure delight on A3 pieces of paper.... but not for long.
On the day of her exam results, Harriet returns home to find her parents hurriedly packing: they were packing for New York. Astonished but excited, she takes the move as a new experience, and looks forward to seeing the wonderful sights of America! Unfortunately, Harriet's parents made a white lie, they weren't moving to New York, but two hours away from it in a shabby American estate in Greenway. Furious, Harriet runs away to the glamorous city for a modeling job, but will things turn out alright for her in the end?
A gripping read as always from Holly Smale, still one of my favourite books! Definately recommended for 11/12- 15 yrs. GEEK OUT! :D

The sequel to Geek Girl is an amazing story that links up with the first book, and it's still my absolute favourite!!!
Harriet can't cope with her life anymore; she's been dumped, she might be getting fired at any time, Annabel her step-mum has pushed her away to Japan for a modelling job because she's expecting a baby...
Will things all come clear at the end for Harriet? Or will her life be even more geeky and lonely than ever???
I definitely recommend this AMAZING book to any girl on earth!!!

BEST BOOK EVER!!!!!!!
Geek Girl was an amazing - and I mean it - story, with the tale of Harriet Manners as she transforms from a geek into a top viewer model.
Harriet Manners is a geek, and her whole school knows it. Being top in everything makes Harriet be teased, treated like dirt and makes her feel like a polar bear lost in a jungle, but one day on a trip to a shopping centre at school, a fashion agent sees Harriet and takes her away for photographs. In the next few weeks she gets transformed into a model, but has to lie to her best friend, Nat, and her stepmum, Annabel to keep everything in place. When they both find out what is going on, Harriet and her dad are chucked away like a bag of garbage, and Harriet still has a job with the modeling agency, but what will she do?
A gripping book from begining to end with a girls first love and troubling events. The book states for 11+, but I'm 10 and I really enjoyed it, but unfortunately there are a few places in the book were the use of bad language is used.
